Welcome to the Smart Video Surveillance Lab at FAST NUCES Karachi
At the FAST-NUCES Karachi campus, the Video Surveillance Lab (VSL) has secured a substantial grant of Rs 39.3 million in Jul 2017, from the Planning Commission of Pakistan and HEC. This funding is dedicated for the establishment of a cutting-edge Smart Video Surveillance Lab, seamlessly integrated into the National Centre for Big Data & Cloud Computing (NCBC), Pakistan.
The lab’s primary objective is to leverage advanced technology to extract relevant and timely information from a multitude of video streams, addressing the diverse needs of government agencies, hospitals, educational institutes. law enforcement agencies, researchinstitutions, corporate enterprises, media organizations, and non-profit organizations.
Our mission is to contribute to advancements in the domain of video surveillance, nurturing innovation, and excellence. By harnessing the power of Smart IoT Systems and Active Learning, the lab is poised to develop innovative video surveillance-based solutions. We are dedicated to producing pioneering research that revolutionizes the field and providing outstanding research opportunities on an international level.
